PIN Easy Paleo Dinner Recipes
What is the Paleo Diet?
Paleo is a common term these days, so you may have heard it or seen it attached to recipes. Paleo cookies, paleo muffins, paleo dinners– but what exactly does it mean? Paleo foods are anything that can be hunted or gathered, such as lean meats, fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds. Dairy products and grains are often limited or avoided entirely when eating Paleo.
Paleo Diet FAQ
Why can’t I eat grains on Paleo?
Paleo eaters often avoid grains because of a few different reasons. Paleo meals don’t contain grains, because they contain different compounds like gluten, lectins and phytates, which can cause inflammation in the body and block other nutrients from being absorbed.
Are potatoes Paleo?
This is a common question when it comes to coming up with Paleo dinner ideas– are potatoes considered to be paleo friendly? Potatoes are a part of a family of vegetables that grow under the ground, called tubers. Sweet potatoes are considered to be paleo friendly, however white potatoes are not, as they are not as mineral filled and nutrient dense.
Can I have dairy on Paleo?
Most strict paleo diet followers would say no, as hunter gatherers did not milk cows in the past. This includes butter, milk, sour cream, and cheeses. However, some paleo eaters consider grass fed butter to be ok because it contains more omega 3s. It varies from person to person and that’s SO ok! Most of my Easy Paleo Dinner Recipes do not contain dairy products.
