PIN High Protein Salads
No More Sad Salads
Salads can become boring if you use the same lettuce, toppings, and dressings EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. They get old and they aren’t fun or interesting any more which makes us not want to eat them- trust me, I’ve been there before. If you’re in a salad rut then fear not, because today I have 15 High Protein Salads to present to you! Salads, even if they’re loaded with fun toppings and lots of flavor, can leave you still hungry, or will fill you up but only for a short time. Adding protein to your salad will help solve this problem by giving you more energy and keep you full for longer!
How to add Protein to Salads
There are literally SO many different types of salads – some use greens, some use grains, some use a combination! Some use veggies and savory dressing, and others add some sweetness with fruit for some color and flavor. One thing that can be frustrating about a salad, as mentioned before, is that some salads just aren’t filling enough to be a meal. What we all really need is some High Protein Salad Recipes!
Here are some ways to add protein to your salad that will spice it up a bit, give you the energy you need to tackle your busy day, and keep you full, too:
Meat
A popular meat to put in salad is chicken. It’s lean, it can be cooked and seasoned many different ways, and it also tastes good either hot or cold in a salad. Beef can also be used- I love seasoned stir fried steak in a salad. Delish!
Chickpeas
I am such a fan of chickpeas, because they will add that boost of protein you’re looking for, they’re easy to cook, and they taste delicious!
Quinoa
Quinoa is so versatile! It is such a fun way to add protein to a salad, because it has a mild taste, a great texture, and pairs well with greens, other grains, fruits and vegetables. It’s a go- to ingredient in my household!
Eggs
Eggs are great because they contain a lot of protein and keep you full! Hard boil them or soft boil them, then slice onto some greens to make your protein salad!
Great for Lunch or Dinner
Another great thing about High Protein Salads is that they make a great meal anytime, no matter how hungry you are! They make a great lunch at work when you’re too swamped to go out to grab lunch, or a satisfying dinner at home! The protein in these salads make them nourishing and filling enough for a meal anytime of day and they taste amazing too!
