Want an appetizer that will stand out at a party? Craft this creamy Crack Chicken Dip and pair it with crackers.

Creamy cheesy chicken casserole topped with bacon and green onions, served in a white dish, perfect for healthy comfort food meals and meal prep.

In all my years hosting parties with family members and friends, I’ve tried many different kinds of dip: some sweet, some savory, and some with a kick. But none are as party-pleasing, or as finger-licking delicious, as this one.

Crack chicken dip gets its name from the fact that it’s pretty darn addicting, so be careful! You might find yourself filling up on dip before dinner has even begun. For this reason, I like to serve it at a gathering where the whole meal is an appetizer buffet. Typically, my family does this kind of shindig for New Year’s Eve, but it makes a great birthday spread, too.

If you get the munchies easily, crack chicken dip might be one of the best ways to satisfy that. It’s creamy, savory, and cheesy with a hint of smokiness from the crumbled bacon. Serve it with crackers or toast, and you’ve got a simple but decadent dip at your fingertips.

What makes crack chicken dip so irresistible?

One bite speaks louder than words, but I’ll try to explain the method behind the madness. Basically, crack chicken dip is a harmonious combo of cream cheese, sour cream, bacon, and chicken, all cooked up into a fluffy mass and then topped with melted cheddar cheese. It satisfies both the appetite and the taste buds, containing both a large amount of protein and fat. This satisfying balance could very well be what makes it so addictive!

How do I store leftovers?

Let your crack chicken dip cool completely and then cover it with aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months before thawing it in the fridge overnight. Then you can either serve it cold or warm it up in the oven at 300°F for 15-20 minutes.

Serving suggestions

You can dip almost anything in this deliciously cheesy concoction, but some of the best are Bacon-Wrapped Crackers, Flaxseed Crackers, Texas Toast Garlic Bread, or Corn Bread Muffins. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Crack chicken dip also goes great with Air-Fryer Sweet Potato Fries, Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans, and Potato Wedges.
