I told you in the watermelon mojitos that I bought a big watermelon and needed stuff to do with it….
…..SO WHY NOT MORE ADULT SUMMER BEVERAGES WITH WATERMELON
You guyssssss….I LOVE sangria. And this one? SO ULTRA REFRESHING.
Even more than last years tropical white moscato sangria and frozen sangria.
And who would have thought you get more refreshing than FROZEN!
What is Sangria?
I love a delicious, homemade drink in EVERY season! During the holidays, I love mixing up and enjoying some sparkling champagne holiday sangria with my friends and family, and in the summertime I go for a cool and icy easy frozen sangria every time! This summer, we have a NEW sangria coming to town and it’s this watermelon sangria recipe! It’s fresh, it’s fruity, it has the perfect amount of delicious white wine and the STAR of this tasty drink is the watermelon! I’ve also added some more summery fruits to the mix when it comes to this sangria, and I’m POSITIVE you are going to love it!

Ingredients Needed
Was there ever a more summery, colorful and fruity list of ingredients? I think not. Here’s what you’ll need to round up and prepare to make this refreshing and delicious watermelon sangria wine:
- Watermelon, cubed
- Sugar
- Bottle Dry White Wine (I like pinot grigio but you could use moscato to make this recipe watermelon moscato sangria)
- Coconut Water
- Vodka
- Triple Sec
- Strawberries, sliced
- Oranges, sliced
How to make Watermelon Sangria

Add the rest of the ingredients to the large pitcher and stir until everything is well incorporated.
Chill
Cover the pitcher and place in the fridge to chill for at least 4 hours.
Enjoy
Pour into glasses and serve!

Other Ingredients You Could Use
I’m the queen of switching things up in a recipe to suit your dietary needs, preferences and cravings! For this sangria recipe, you could switch up the flavor by using rum or tequila instead of vodka and triple sec for a different vibe. You could also add different berries and fruits that you think would pair well together! Get creative with your sangria and let me know how it turns out for you!
Appetizers to serve with Watermelon Sangria
Drinks on the deck in summertime is my favorite type of hang out, that’s for sure! BUT you’ll also need some summery appetizers to go with your sangria! I recommend serving some grilled pineapple mango salsa with corn and a big bowl of tortilla chips. Healthy California Roll Sushi Bites are also a light and summer friendly snack that would pair so well with a fruity summer drink!
Meals to Serve with Sangria
If you’re wanting to have a cookout in the yard and share a meal with family and friends, I recommend firing up the grill to cook some grilled herb hummus chicken kebabs or pineapple thai grilled chicken skewers. Throw together a mediterranean low carb broccoli salad and some parsnip fries and you’ve got yourself a tasty summer meal!
How long does Sangria last?
Sangria is a fantastic make-ahead drink because it lasts well in the fridge for a while, AND the flavors will infuse while it chills, making it even more delicious! A prepared, mixed sangria will last for up to 5 days when covered and stored in the fridge.
