Start your day on a vibrant note with this Healthy Strawberry-Watermelon Smoothie. It’s easy to make and delightfully delicious!
In the summer, my breakfast usually consists of a healthy smoothie. Smoothies are not only a breeze to whip up, but they can also be made with myriad fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices. Have some fruit or veggies that need to be used up? Chances are, you can blitz them into a smoothie. Besides herbs and spices, you can also give smoothies an extra health boost with ingredients such as protein powder, flaxseed, or chia seed.
This fruity smoothie keeps things simple and combines chunks of sweet strawberries and watermelon (both a source of vitamin C) with avocado for a dose of healthy fats and a dash of turmeric (a spice that’s been touted for its anti-inflammatory properties). Mint gives it a burst of freshness, while almond milk provides a smooth, velvety texture. And if you’re wondering why I’ve added black pepper, it’s because piperine, a compound in the spice, is believed to help with the absorption of curcumin, turmeric’s main active ingredient.
Delicious, easy to make, and nutritious? You better believe it! It’s no wonder this smoothie has become a favorite at my house, and I’m convinced you’re going to love it, too.

Turn your smoothie into a smoothie bowl!
If you have a little more time on your hands, why not use this smoothie as the base for a colorful and delicious smoothie bowl? You can garnish your bowl with fresh blueberries and sliced kiwi, add a sprinkling of coconut flakes and chia seeds, and top it with toasted chopped nuts such as almonds or walnuts. If I have some granola or dark chocolate in my pantry, I’ll add it to my bowl, too. These are just a few suggestions. When it comes to making a smoothie bowl, let your tastes and culinary creativity be your guide!

How do I store leftovers?
Smoothies are best served fresh, but if you happen to have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
