These crispy, cheesy, bacon-topped Loaded Fries turn everyone’s favorite side into a full-on meal!

Loaded fries with melted cheddar, crispy bacon, green onions, jalapeños, and sour cream.

Fries are, without a doubt, one of my favorite things on earth. They’re not pretentious or fussy, and they’re definitely not trying to be healthy, which is part of their charm. They’re salty, crispy, and just begging to be eaten straight off the sheet pan.

And when you load them up with all the right things, like a little cheese, sliced jalapeños, maybe a drizzle of something creamy, they become more than just fries. They’re a whole dinner. Or a really great snack that turns into dinner. Think loaded nachos, but better. Because let’s be real: fries hold up better, taste better, and make for a more satisfying foundation for all that flavor.

This recipe leans into that energy, and honestly, that’s the whole point. From oven to table, these loaded fries take just 35 minutes, and using frozen fries helps cut down the prep time. It’s fast, satisfying, and the kind of recipe that earns a repeat performance. You might find yourself coming back to it more often than you’d expect.

Ingredients for Loaded Fries: frozen french fries, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon, green onions, sour cream, ranch dressing, and sliced jalapeños.

Top it like you mean it

These loaded fries are already pretty incredible, but let’s talk about the fun part: toppings. This is your chance to go wild, dear reader. If you’re feeling bold, swap in some Pulled Pork or Pulled Chicken and smother it all in this Texas BBQ Sauce. Or if you’re craving something zesty, a dollop of Guacamole with some chopped cilantro might be just the thing.

Also, I’m not saying you need to add some spicy Queso, but if you do, it’ll take these fries to next-level indulgence. You could even add crumbled blue cheese that would complement the bacon. Or maybe some Pickled Jalapeños for some nice acidity. Or diced tomatoes and roasted corn. Don’t be shy. Pile on the toppings and make this snack your own.

How do I store leftovers?

While I recommend enjoying these fries hot and fresh, you can refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Just know that the fries will lose some crispness. However, a quick reheat in the oven or air fryer should bring it back—350°F for 8-10 minutes usually does the trick.

Serving suggestions

Loaded fries are already the main event, so your best bet is to pair them with something fresh, crunchy, or light to balance out the flavors. I’d recommend going with a green salad such as this Spring Salad or this Chopped Salad. A Broccoli Slaw would also work really well here. If you’re in the mood for more comfort food with a similar, snacky vibe, try this recipe for Air-Fryer Chicken Tenders or my favorite ever Crispy Air-Fryer Brussels Sprouts.
