Grandma’s classic oatmeal cookies just got an upgrade—now with a chocolaty rainbow of M&M’S!

Oatmeal M&M Cookies

Whether walking past a Mrs. Fields in the mall or driving past a local bakery, I just can’t help myself. I’ll inevitably stop whatever I’m doing and buy myself a well-deserved cookie. I love desserts in general, but there’s something about the simplicity of a cookie that gets me every time. I can’t say no, and I don’t even want to—cookies are just so divine.

If you love them as much as I do, you know it’s not cheap to buy a quality baker’s dozen from your favorite cookie shop. Like many treats, it’s way more affordable to bake them at home. That’s what I do most days! In fact, I’ve grown to love baking a batch for my friends and family. And right now, the cookies I’m most interested in are oatmeal M&M’S cookies.

When considering an oatmeal raisin cookie, some might say that the oatmeal is the best part. I have to agree. So why not amplify these classic cookies by replacing the raisins with M&M’S? And that’s basically how you get this fabulous recipe for oatmeal M&M’S cookies. They’re crispy on the edges, chewy on the inside, and chock-full of sweet, mouthwatering chocolaty M&M’S. So grab your apron, gather your ingredients, and let’s start baking!

Are Oatmeal M&M Cookies Healthy?

Considering all the sugar, fat, and carbs, Oatmeal M&M cookies are not healthy. Old-fashioned oats provide fiber and essential nutrients, but not enough to outweigh all those empty calories. You can still be mindful of your health goals—just enjoy these cookies in moderation!

Do I Have To Use Classic M&M’s?

In your kitchen, you make all the rules! So if you want to mix things up and use mini M&M’S, peanut M&M’S, or even pretzel M&M’S, go for it. Actually, I highly recommend that you do. As a massive lover of mini M&M’S, I bet they would make this recipe unique and fun. Always be creative and do what’s going to make you happy. If you change up your M&M’S, let your friends here at FFF know how it goes!

How Do I Store Leftovers?

These oatmeal M&M Cookies are so delightful that you’ll want to enjoy them for more than a day. Thankfully, they store super well, so you can! Once your cookies cool down to room temperature, place them in an airtight container. You can either keep them in your pantry or on your counter for 3-4 days, or freeze them for up to 4 weeks. If you do choose to freeze them, make sure to use a freezer-safe, airtight container.

Serving Suggestions

When it comes to cookies, my two favorite sidekicks are a tall glass of milk and a lovely scoop of vanilla ice cream. But there are many ways you can serve these oatmeal M&M cookies! A nice drizzle of Chocolate Fondue for my chocolate fanatics out there would be fun. Or, you could even crumble a few cookies into a vanilla, a chocolate, or even a Peanut Butter Milkshake. Now enjoy a few of your freshly baked oatmeal M&M cookies, and rejoice in the money you saved baking at home.
