Take a piece of filet mignon to the next level by wrapping it in bacon!

True meat lovers know that it doesn’t get much better than a piece of filet mignon steak. There aren’t many cuts of meat that are higher in quality or better to eat, especially for a special occasion. If only there were a way to enhance filet mignon even more, right? Well, there is a way to make it better, and it’s not that difficult. All you have to do is wrap it in a piece of bacon. That’s another thing all meat lovers should know; bacon makes everything a little better.
Perhaps the only downside of this recipe is that you have to be attentive when cooking bacon-wrapped steak on a skillet. After all, you want to make the bacon the right level of crispy while also making sure the steak isn’t undercooked or overcooked. But if you can devote the right amount of attention to preparing the meat, you’ll have a juicy and delicious filet mignon that has a piece of crispy bacon wrapped around it. It’s truly like going to meat-lover heaven.
Is Bacon-Wrapped Steak Healthy?
As most people know, bacon typically adds a lot of fat and sodium to meals. This is why bacon-wrapped steak isn’t for everyone and why you don’t always want to wrap your steak with pieces of bacon. That said, filet mignon steaks are high in protein and iron and don’t contain a lot of fat or carbs. So, steak can be part of a balanced diet and can occasionally be enjoyed with bacon wrapped around it.

Tips For The Bacon
If you’re going to wrap your steak with a piece of bacon, regular-cut or thin-cut bacon is easiest to work with. Thick-cut bacon will add more flavor but takes longer to cook, so you may want to pre-cook it a little. This will help ensure it becomes crispy later on without overcooking the steak. Also, make sure the bacon is wrapped tightly around each piece of steak – you might need to use a toothpick to secure it in place.

How to make ahead and store
Leftover pieces of bacon-wrapped steak can be cooled and stored in an airtight container. In the fridge, they will remain good for 3-4 days and can be reheated in the oven, air fryer, or skillet.

Serving Suggestions
No matter the type of steak, a side of Healthy Mashed Potatoes is always my preferred side dish. I also like to include a green vegetable like Air-Fryer Asparagus with the meal. Before eating steak, I also find salad to be a good appetizer. This can be a simple Caesar Salad or perhaps a Mediterranean Low-Carb Broccoli Salad. Of course, it’s hard to deny the appeal of a surf-and-turf dinner. If you’re craving meat with a side of seafood, I recommend Easy Sautéed Shrimp or perhaps Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp.
