Light, fluffy, and convenient—scrambled eggs are another win for the air fryer, and healthy to boot!

The air fryer has revolutionized the way a lot of us approach everyday meals, and breakfast is no exception. I’m pretty sure no one’s found a way to brew coffee in the machine, but if you find it’s replaced the toaster for toasting up bagels and muffins and surpassed the microwave for heating leftovers and frozen foods, you’re not alone. But scrambled eggs, a dish that typically relies on constant stovetop attention? Yes, even this can benefit from the air fryer treatment. You’ll be able to cook the eggs with less added fat, less monitoring, and they’ll come out soft and evenly cooked. If your perfect morning meal means simple, delicious flavors and a good dose of protein, then you’re in luck.

We cook these eggs with just a pat of butter, mostly for flavor and that classic buttery aroma, but also to keep the eggs from sticking. And we opt for just a touch of shredded cheddar cheese mixed in. The cheese gives a subtle boost of flavor and extra creaminess to the eggs, and if you use orange cheddar, you’ll even get a slightly richer color. Other than that, we keep these eggs pretty basic, although you can definitely add your choice of spices, veggies, breakfast meats, other cheeses, and more—whatever your morning needs!

Are Scrambled Eggs In An Air Fryer Healthy?

Yes, these scrambled eggs in the air fryer are healthy. Eggs are an excellent source of protein and contain a number of important vitamins and minerals. Cooking them in an air fryer means you can use a minimal amount of added fat. The recipe is vegetarian, gluten-free, and ketogenic. This recipe makes pretty generous three-egg servings, so adjust that if you need to.

Great Dishes That Start With Scrambled Eggs

All you’ve really got to do is grab a fork for these eggs, but if you’re looking for other ways to use them, there are plenty. Get out your favorite bread, bagels, or English muffins to make egg sandwiches—you can even toast the bread right in the air fryer. Or keep your sandwiches open-face and top them with colorful ingredients like diced tomatoes, chopped bacon, or avocado slices. Make breakfast tacos by heating some corn tortillas in the air fryer and rolling the eggs up just by themselves or with salsa, beans, hot sauce, and more for an easy version of huevos rancheros. Or use flour tortillas to fold up breakfast burritos with your choice of chopped bacon or sausage, diced roast potatoes, sour cream, and salsa.

How Do I Store Leftovers?

Let leftovers cool completely and then place them in an airtight container. Store them in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can reheat the eggs briefly in the microwave or air fryer.

Serving Suggestions

If you’ve already got your air fryer out, why not make an entire breakfast with it? Alongside your eggs, you can serve up some Air-Fryer Bacon or Air-Fryer Turkey Bacon, then choose between Homemade French Fries In An Air Fryer and Air-Fryer Breakfast Potatoes. Or keep it simple and just make some Air-Fryer Toast.
