This gloriously silky dip wins hearts with ease; it’s a simple Whipped Feta Dip!

It’s good to switch it up sometimes and this whipped feta dip acts as a refreshing alternative to more common appetizers like hummus or guacamole. Don’t get me wrong, I love a homemade hummus or guac any day of the week, but when something as tasty and delightful as this whipped dip shows up, it makes things slightly more interesting.
This dip comes together in no time. Simply toss all your ingredients together in a blender or food processor and mix. It transforms crumbly feta cheese into a gloriously silky delight and makes for the perfect appetizer served alongside pita bread and vegetables, or used as a sauce on sandwiches and bowls of all kinds.
Is Whipped Feta Dip Healthy?
With cheese as the main ingredient, whipped feta dip is never going to be the healthiest option. That said, the fresh parsley, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and red pepper flakes all add vitamins, minerals and flavor without unhealthy fats or excessive calories. Additionally, this dip incorporates Greek yogurt, which is often high in protein and probiotics. For a vegan variation, simply swap your yogurt and cheese with dairy-free substitutes.

What is Feta?
Feta is a creamy, tangy and light Greek cheese I can’t seem to get enough of, especially when it comes in block form soaked in a brine bath… it’s melt-in-your-mouth good. This white cheese is typically made from sheep’s milk or from a mixture of sheep and goat’s milk. There are two types you can usually choose from at the grocery store; the first is crumbly feta which tends to be more dry and has a slightly grainy texture to it, and is typically more salty. Then there is my favorite form: fresh feta soaked in brine. The brine works wonders on the feta’s texture; it transforms this cheese into a thick, smooth and creamy block, all while giving it a longer shelf life. I suggest you opt for the fresh feta in the brine, it will be well worth your time.

How to make ahead and store
Store your whipped feta in an airtight container in the fridge. It will last in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
