Make your own Spicy Mayo to use on all of your favorite foods!

I feel like over the last few years, spicy mayo has totally taken off. Raise your hand if spicy mayo has become your favorite condiment. (Mine is totally raised.) And it’s not without reason! Spicy mayo is versatile, flavorful, and super easy to make at home if you follow a basic recipe like this one.

Spicy mayo has been commonly used in Asian cuisine for years—you’ve probably drizzled it over your favorite sushi roll or mixed it into a poke bowl. But the condiment is actually served in sooo many different ways! From burgers to sandwiches, rolls to wraps, dipped with fries or drizzled over veggies, spicy mayo is an easy and flavor-packed way to spice up your favorite meals.

Spicy mayo is made with just a few simple ingredients—mainly mayonnaise or Kewpie mayo, sriracha or another hot sauce, and lime juice. The result is a creamy, tangy, and mildly spicy sauce that flavor-blasts whatever dish you pair it with.

Is Spicy Mayo Healthy?

Spicy mayo doesn’t have a notable nutritional profile other than being high in fat, so if you are watching your fat intake, this may be something to consider. However, you can modify the recipe to fit your own dietary needs by choosing a low-fat mayonnaise base. Vegan mayonnaise would also work in this recipe if you were interested in making it plant-based.

Lime Ties It All Together

The lime juice might seem like it’s a small, optional component of this recipe. But trust me when I say it’s necessary.

Lime juice is the ribbon that ties this whole gift together. The bright, acidic citrus not only cuts straight through the fattiness of the mayonnaise, but it also helps to temper the spice from the sriracha. With lime juice, this sauce takes on a fresh, unique flavor that doesn’t feel too heavy. Once you try it, you’ll totally understand why it’s not something to skip.

How Do I Store Leftovers?

You can store your homemade spicy mayo in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. Pro tip: For the full experience, you can also buy condiment squeeze bottles to store your spicy mayo.

Serving Suggestions

This spicy mayo really does go on everything! You can enjoy it with more traditional Asian flavors by dipping your Sushi Burrito or Spam Musubi in it. You can also try spicy mayo on burgers, with Garlic Fries, or on a Bánh Mì Sandwich. I also love spicy mayo paired with Crispy Calamari and other seafood dishes.

Dipped, drizzled, or spread, this spicy mayo will make all your favorite foods taste even better!
