It’s time for your monthly snack post!
This time, we are POWERING up on PROTEIN. You know how much I <3 <3 <3 me some protein!
I feel like cottage cheese doesn’t get enough PR. It’s all about Greek yogurt these days. WHICH, I also <3, but cottage cheese deserves some cred’ too ya know?
I eat cottage cheese every single day. It’s SUPER quick, super healthy and all that protein is going to keep you SUPER full between meals. Which is kind of the point of choosing healthy snacks.
Basically, cottage cheese is a MAJOR food win in YOUR life.
So, here’s a few simple ideas for your snack-loving mouth!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cottage Cheese Bowls
- Chocolate Protein Powder
- Cottage Cheese
- Pinch of stevia (or sweetener of choice, if desired)
- Peanut Butter
Simple mix the protein powder an cottage cheese in a bowl with a pinch of sweetener, to taste. Then, drizzle on as much melted peanut butter (or any nut butter!) as desired! I LOVE this one. <3
Cottage Cheese with Seasoning Salt
- Cottage Cheese
- Seasoning salt
Just mix cottage cheese with seasoning salt, to taste. Seriously. That easy. AND, don’t knock it till you try it! Mr. FFF taught me this one and, now that he can’t eat dairy, he misses it so bad. It’s really delish!
Cucumber Tomato Cottage Cheese Salad
- Cottage Cheese
- Tomato
- Cucumber
- Salt/pepper/any other spices you like
Chop some tomato and cucumber and mix with with cottage cheese. Sprinkle with salt and pepper (and if you want any other seasonings, but I don’t add any!) and EAT. Fresh, easy and filling!
Cottage Cheese Pesto & Egg Bowls
- Cottage Cheese
- Jarred Pesto
- Egg
- Salt/pepper
Fry an egg to your desired level of runny yolk-ness. Then mix cottage cheese with as much pesto as your <3 desired, plus a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Place the egg on top and GO TO TOWN. I like my egg nice and runny here!

Yay, love this! Cottage cheese is definitely underrated–people don’t realize how amazing it is! I eat it with breakfast and lunch, and even use it in lasagna and cheesecake. One of my favorite ways to eat it looks just like that cucumber tomato salad! (plus I usually throw in fresh basil, bell pepper, and chives). I also prefer it over Greek yogurt for a morning bowl of fruit and granola. Excited to try the pesto and egg combo! Thanks!

pinning! I’m currently trying to find more foods/ways to add protein in my diet. I’m starting to focus more on what I’m eating (I;ve been slacking for like a year now…. whoops) and I quickly noticed I don’t get NEAR enough protein as I should be getting! I forgot about cottage cheese, and even though it’s not my favorite, it IS the perfect protein snack. And these ideas sound DELICIOUS. PB and chocolate?! Must try.

Haha hey, we ALL slack at some points in our lives! But, protein is SOOO KEY….try it! Maybe cottage cheese will grow on you 😉 Thanks!
