Looking for an easy appetizer? These delectable Boursin-Stuffed Mushrooms will be gone in no time!

I do a lot of entertaining. In fact, at least once a month, I have friends over for a six-course dinner party, complete with bubbles and canapés to start and a liqueur and chocolates to end. Not only do these gatherings give me the chance to see my friends (yes, they know very well they’re guinea pigs, and they don’t seem to mind), but they’re also the perfect opportunity to try out new recipes.
While sometimes I love to go all out and treat us all to an elegant dinner served on my antique plates, most of the time it’s simple, straightforward food that makes the cut. Main dishes are usually the kind that can be made in advance, such as stews and casseroles; desserts are seasonal fruit; and starters include olives, crudités and hummus, or easy finger foods that don’t require a lot of work.
Take these Boursin-stuffed mushrooms, for example. The hardest work (if you could call it that) is removing the stems. Once that’s done, I simply combine some creamy Boursin with panko, olive oil, salt, and pepper. That’s it. Into the oven they go, and 20 minutes later, I have a platter of hot, bubbling mushrooms that seem to disappear all too quickly.
Whether you choose to serve them plain or with dips, they’re likely to become a huge hit that everyone will talk about long after the party’s over.
Are Boursin-Stuffed Mushrooms Healthy?
Though stuffed mushrooms aren’t health food by any means, these mushrooms are a relatively wholesome appetizer. Yes, the cheese adds saturated fat, but cremini mushrooms are a source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Vegans can try replacing the cream cheese with a vegan variety, but be aware that results may vary depending on the brand you use. Gluten-free breadcrumbs or crumbled rice crackers can also be used instead of panko. With just a few basic ingredients, this dish is a “win” compared to store-bought appetizers full of additives and excess sodium.

What Is Boursin?
Originating in 1963 in the French village of Croisy-sur-Eure, Boursin was created by François Boursin. Inspired by traditional French fromage frais, the cheesemaker experimented for a few years until he was satisfied with the results: a delectably soft and creamy cheese blended with garlic and herbs. The cheese was not only loved in France, but it also gained recognition worldwide. Over the years, the brand expanded its range of flavors, which now includes varieties such as rosemary and black garlic or basil and chives. Today, Boursin is used in all kinds of recipes, from these stuffed mushrooms to risotto.

How Do I Store Leftovers?
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days. I don’t recommend freezing them, as this will ruin their texture. Reheat the mushrooms at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.

My favorite drinks to serve when entertaining (besides Champagne!) include Mezcal Negroni Cocktails and Classic Whiskey Sour Cocktails.
These mushrooms are excellent plain but also great with a dipping sauce. Try this zesty Bravas Sauce (it’s delicious on more than potatoes!) or a spicy green Shatta Sauce.
