Make tender and juicy filet mignon in a healthy way by preparing it in an air fryer.

If you have an air fryer at home, you already know how easy it makes preparing a wide variety of meals, while also reducing the amount of oil needed in each dish. This tends to work with almost any dish, including a premium cut of meat like a filet mignon.
Admittedly, cooking filet mignon in an air fryer probably isn’t your first instinct. Cooking a cut of meat like that at home rather than getting it from your favorite steakhouse may not be an obvious choice either. But if you follow this recipe, the results will be unforgettable!
Cooking filet mignon in the air fryer doesn’t change the taste or quality of the meat. The outside will be beautifully browned while the inside will be evenly cooked, and it comes out just as tender and juicy as any other cooking method. You won’t even have to use a lot of seasoning to bring out the taste of the meat. All it requires is a little salt, pepper, and butter to produce a perfect piece of filet mignon.
Is Air-Fryer Filet Mignon Healthy?
As mentioned, many believe that making filet mignon in an air fryer is healthier than other cooking options because the air fryer reduces the amount of oil needed to cook the meat. This leads to less fat and fewer calories in the final result.
Filet mignon already has less saturated fat than other cuts of meat, and it is a good source of protein and iron, so there is always some nutritional value when cooking it. Of course, it’s still good to consume filet mignon in moderation, like with all red meat. But when you do, cooking it in an air fryer is usually among the healthiest options.

Season The Way You Like It
You don’t have to stick with just regular salt and pepper. You can mix things up when it comes to the seasonings. Depending on what I have on hand, I like to use garlic powder, thyme, rosemary, and similar herbs. Don’t feel like you need to go overboard, though! Allow the steak to shine, and it will reward you with an incredible flavor and texture all by itself.

How to make ahead and store
If there are filet mignon leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the air fryer to restore their soft and juicy texture.

Serving Suggestions
The last step in preparing filet mignon is putting a little butter on top. If you want the butter to be extra special, my advice is to make a little Roasted Garlic Butter for your filet mignon.
As far as side dishes go, you can’t go wrong with some Crispy Asparagus, some Roasted Brussels Sprouts, or other green vegetables. I also like to include either a Baked Potato or Potatoes Au Gratin as a side dish. I’ve found that Honey-Glazed Carrots and Sautéed Mushrooms are great side dishes with filet mignon, too.
