This Lamb Seasoning is a simple way to spice up your next meal!

If you’re looking for a way to shake up your weekly dinner menu, look no further! This lamb seasoning is a super easy way to incorporate some new flavors (and proteins) into your diet.

I know I easily get bored of my go-to recipes, and I am always looking for ways to spice things up – pun intended. This lamb seasoning has quickly become a regular on my small but delicious list of recipes.

My boyfriend was the person to get me onto this. He does most of the cooking when we’re together. Although I am always insisting that I know how to cook, I just don’t prefer to, so he’s taken it upon himself to teach me some new recipes, one of them being lamb chops.

If you haven’t had lamb before, it sort of tastes like a more mild beef. It’s savory, tender, and balances subtly sweet and earthy undertones. Paired with this lamb seasoning, you end up with a classic savory meat dish, perfectly flavored with salt, garlic, and herbs. Plus, the use of ingredients like rosemary and thyme in this seasoning nicely complements the robust flavor of the lamb as well.

Is Lamb Seasoning Healthy?

This seasoning is Whole30, paleo, gluten-free, and dairy-free! Lamb is a red meat, so while it is an excellent source of protein and nutrients, it should be enjoyed in moderation. Depending on how you cook it, you may get more or less health benefits from the dish. I recommend grilling or baking your lamb, as opposed to frying it, for the maximum health benefits.

How To Season Lamb

Depending on the cut of lamb you are cooking, the process of incorporating this lamb seasoning may look different. If you’re making lamb chops, you’ll want to marinate your chops in the seasoning for some time before cooking. You can also use this seasoning to rub into a delicious roast lamb served with potatoes, and carrots for an easy roast dinner. You can even roll your lamb meatballs in this lamb seasoning for added flavor!

How to make ahead and store

You can easily make this lamb seasoning and store it in your pantry with other spices and seasonings. Just be sure to store it in an airtight container, like a mason jar, and label it with the date you made it. It should last about 6 months.

Serving Suggestions

However you choose to use your lamb seasoning and cook your lamb, you should serve it with complementary sides. Lamb is great in Greek dishes like pita wraps, and I like to serve it with Pickled Red Onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a Spicy Feta Dip or Tzatziki Sauce. You can also impress dinner guests by serving lamb chops or a rack of lamb with hearty sides like Rosemary Roasted Potatoes and Crispy Asparagus.
