This yummy Gummy Bear Shot is a cute, colorful addition to any adult get-together and will totally help get the conversation started.

I was inspired by I Love Sugar, a Las Vegas candy store that has everything sugar addicts could ask for, including a martini bar. The bar is famous for incorporating colorful hard candy, gummies, and more into cocktails. If I’ve inspired you to book a trip to Vegas to check it out, remember to bring me a souvenir!

This gummy bear shot is perfect for drinkers who don’t really like the taste of alcohol and whose go-to cocktail is something fruity and sugary. The magic of my gummy bear shot is that it tastes great with only four ingredients: cherry vodka, peach schnapps, pineapple juice, and a splash of lemon-lime soda. Well, five if you include the cute gummy bear garnish. You simply add the liquid ingredients, shake it up, pour, and enjoy! It’s perfect for 21st birthdays and bachelorette parties when you want a drink that’s fun, Instagram-friendly, and will get people talking.

Is This Gummy Bear Shot Healthy?

Well, I think it’s established that an alcoholic beverage really doesn’t fall into the “healthy” category. As fun as it may be, this is definitely a drink you’ll want to consume with moderation!

What Is The Best Vodka To Use To Make A Gummy Bear Shot?

I love using Three Olives Cherry to make gummy bear shots and many other fruity drinks. It’s a mid-level brand and pretty affordable comparatively. I first discovered it when I had to create a signature cocktail at my first bartending job. I was rather new to the mixology world, so I tried something simple called The Sweet Melissa. It was a Shirley Temple with Three Olives Cherry. It was delicious and very similar to my gummy bear shot! I also love experimenting with other flavored vodkas, like whipped cream, pineapple, cotton candy, or peach. The list is endless!

How Do I Store Leftovers?

Store leftovers in the fridge in a pitcher, mason jar, or something similar. The soda will go flat if you don’t drink your leftovers in a few hours, however. The pineapple juice will likely separate, so be prepared to shake again.

Serving Suggestions

While the gummy bear shot is meant to be a shot, it can also be served as a cocktail or a martini. For a gummy bear cocktail, you will have a higher ratio of juice to liquor, just like a Fuzzy Navel. Use one ounce of vodka, one ounce of peach schnapps, four ounces of pineapple juice, and top with a splash of soda. Martinis, or drinks served “up,” usually have a higher alcohol content and less juice or mixer. Follow the gummy bear shot recipe as written, but use the portions and steps as we do in the Last Word Cocktail. You can turn the gummy bear shot into a yummy mocktail! Just use grenadine, peach nectar, pineapple juice, a splash of lemon-lime soda, and add some gummy bears.

For fun, you could throw a kids-themed adult birthday party. Serve your gummy bear shots with classics like Chicken Tenders and grilled cheese.
