This Flank Steak Marinade infuses every bite with bold, savory restaurant-level flavors!

Seeking a classy (and juicy) restaurant-at-home dining experience? Here it is—a steak marinade that’s as easy to make as it is to enjoy. Even better, it calls for staple ingredients (like soy sauce and Dijon mustard) you probably have stocked in your kitchen. And anything you have to pick up from the store can be found in one quick sweep!

This recipe yields six servings of the most succulent steak you’ll ever make, and what takes the most time is waiting. In fact, it’s perfect for BBQs or special dinners because all you do is prep the meat, let it soak for at least two hours, and then cook to your liking. The sweet and savory flavors dance across your tongue, and the tender meat practically melts in your mouth. What’s not to love?

Is This Flank Steak Marinade Healthy?

Steak is a good source of iron and protein. The marinade itself is low-carb and can easily be low-sodium. Simply swap out the soy sauce for coconut aminos. To boost the nutritional profile of the meal, make sure to serve the steak with plenty of fresh vegetables.

What’s Special About Flank Steak?

As an affordable, versatile cut of beef, flank steak creates a great pick for marinades. It’s cut from the cow’s abdominal muscles and is chewier than more expensive cuts. Flank is a worthy pick for everything from fajitas to Asian stir-fry. Using this marinade recipe helps turn this budget protein into a tender, flavor-packed centerpiece for any meal.

Ingredients for flank steak marinade: raw flank steak, soy sauce, minced garlic, mustard, oil, and spices.

How To Make Ahead And Store

Of course, this recipe requires 2 hours of soaking the meat in marinade before cooking, but you can soak it for up to 24 hours. The marinade itself will keep in the fridge (in a mason jar) for up to 4 days.
Leftover steak can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat it on the stove at medium temperature or pop it in the oven at 375°F for 15 minutes, or until it sizzles.

Serving Suggestions

This steak is the perfect main to be complemented by classics like Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes and cornbread. For a burst of sweetness and fresh greens, try it with a hearty and healthy side of Broccoli-Apple Salad. The flavors mix and mingle well between the veggies and meat marinade!
