What can make a simple dish of beef and broccoli even better? Savory lo mein noodles to add flavor and variety to an already easy-to-make meal!

Stir-fried beef and broccoli noodles in a white bowl with chopsticks on a white marble surface, showcasing healthy Asian-inspired cuisine for balanced meals.

As much as I enjoy getting takeout when I’m craving something quick, easy, and delicious, it’s always good to explore alternatives. Not only does it usually save money to cook at home, but there’s something to be said about the fulfilling and nourishing rewards one gets when preparing their own food — or better yet, cooking for others. That’s why I enjoy making beef and broccoli at home, getting all the deliciousness of takeout, with a nice mix of meat and veggies. It’s also easy to expand that dish to include noodles as well. Even when you add the noodles, this is a meal that can be made in 30 minutes or less.

It’s always hard to beat the combination of tender beef and crispy broccoli. And with the complementary taste and texture of noodles, plus the aromatics of garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes, you have a dish that is an amazing experience from the first bite to the last.

Are Beef And Broccoli Noodles Healthy?

This dish is packed with plenty of protein, iron, fiber, and an assortment of vitamins and minerals. Also, since you’re making it at home, you have more control over the ingredients and can make changes to fit any dietary need. For instance, you can ensure the soy sauce and other ingredients in the recipe are low in sodium. Likewise, if you want to cut down on your sugar, you can reduce the brown sugar and honey you use.

How To Prep Like A Pro

With beef, broccoli, and noodles all playing an equal role in this dish, it’s important that you prepare each of them properly. For the meat, slice the beef into thin strips, making sure you are cutting against the grain. Next, make sure the broccoli is cut into small, uniform pieces so they cook evenly. Finally, you will want to cook the noodles just a little less than the full cooking instructions on the package, so they remain al dente. Keep in mind that the noodles will cook a little more in the pan with everything else, so undercooking them by a minute or two is recommended.

How do I store leftovers?

Leftover beef and broccoli noodles can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months, though this may affect the texture of the broccoli.

Serving Suggestions

Since the main dish has beef, broccoli, and noodles, you can usually keep things simple with the side dishes. If you’re making this dish instead of ordering takeout, you may want to prepare some homemade Egg Rolls, Avocado Egg Rolls or some Air-Fryer Wontons. For dessert, stick with the Asian theme and enjoy a refreshing Mango Sago.
