This Air Fryer Haddock is an easy and tasty way to cook a delish fish!

When I was a kid, my mother had many jobs. Sometimes more than one at a time. She had to in order to raise a crazy kid like me all on her own, and man, did she crush it! But this story isn’t so much about my mom’s various careers; it’s more about the one that led me to this recipe for air fryer haddock.
One of my mom’s more notable jobs was working at the deli in our neighborhood. Odd as it might seem, I loved this job as a child. I would get to hang out at the deli after school and do my homework, enjoy tasty sandwiches and root beer floats on the house, and see Mom in a pretty cool uniform. And my mom made it fun, too! Once a week, usually Wednesdays, we would pick out a new cut of meat or fish to try together. Neither of us was raised with very broad palates, so this was our way of trying new things as a team. I always loved the nights we did fish; it was either delicious (the night we tried halibut) or disastrous (the night we burned fried catfish), but we always had fun.
One night that was particularly successful was the Wednesday we decided to try air fryer haddock. I had eaten fish and chips plenty of times on trips to the coast, so I was pretty open to this recipe. But honestly, I liked the air fryer haddock so much more! Maybe it was the way my mom seasoned it or the crispy outer layer that really made it, but I basically asked for haddock every week after that until I moved to college. And we really did eat it a lot.
Aaand I still do, so I thought, why not share this recipe for all of you to enjoy? My mom’s air fryer haddock is crispy on the outside, soft and flaky on the inside, and coated with deliciously blended flavors like citrus, Parmesan, and a mild fishiness. Plus, it cooks quickly and easily in the air fryer, so you have a delicious dinner in just 20 minutes!
Is Air Fryer Haddock Healthy?
While this kind of fish would normally be served fried, similarly to fish and chips, cooking it in the air fryer makes it a healthier alternative with less grease, fat, and gunk all over it. This air fryer haddock recipe is also loaded with nearly 150 grams of protein per portion! Fish, in general, is an excellent protein option, but haddock is particularly low in calories (though this dish isn’t due to the coating), and full of omega-3s.

What Is Haddock?
If you’re unfamiliar with haddock, like my 10-year-old self, it’s a type of fish closely compared to cod. Haddock is smaller and slimmer than cod, and many say it packs more flavor. I’d have to agree, as I’ve always felt like it was more tasty and exciting than the average cod dish, like fish and chips.

How to make ahead and store
Once cooked, you can store leftover air fryer haddock in an airtight container in the fridge for about 2 days. Reheat the fish at 350 degrees in the air fryer for 5 to 7 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Serving Suggestions
Air fryer haddock makes a delicious main course for your weeknight dinner. I always like to serve it with a veggie, like these green beans that you can also make in the air fryer, and something more rich and creamy to counteract the light fish, like orzo risotto.
