These Air-Fryer Apple Chips are a wonderfully healthy and delicious snack. You only need two ingredients, and they are SO easy to make!

If you’re no stranger to the blog, you will know that I am OBSESSED with my air fryer. I use it for everything from cooking meat and fish to even baking all kinds of delicious desserts. It really is such a convenient kitchen appliance, and I can’t recommend it enough, especially if you are short on space and don’t have the luxury of an oven. For busy college students, it’s just the ticket to helping them out of that dreaded microwave-meal rut.
Today’s air fryer recipe is healthy, easy, AND tasty, and it’s one that you will very quickly become obsessed with, so consider yourself warned! Can you believe you can actually make apple chips in the air fryer? Well, you can! And you’re just about to find out how delicious they are. I couldn’t think of a better snack, especially once apple season rolls around, and you have so many apples that you just don’t know what to do with ’em!

Are Air-Fryer Apple Chips Healthy?
No question about it! You’re getting all the goodness of apples, but in a more fun way than eating them fresh. Kids will gobble them up without question. You can eat delicious, cinnamony apple chips to your heart’s content and even feel quite good about doing so!
More than a Snack Food…
Sure, these apple chips are perfect as a snack, but using them only as such wouldn’t do them justice. Apple chips lend themselves to so many creative and delicious uses! I love adding them to salads, especially those with creamy cheeses such as goat cheese or brie and dressings that include sweet flavors like honey or balsamic. Apple chips are great as a finishing touch for desserts such as cheesecakes, but also for autumnal soups made with squash and apples. You can add them to a grilled cheese or chicken salad sandwich for a touch of sweetness, and you can use them as a garnish for your morning smoothie bowl. Apple chips are also lovely on a cheese or charcuterie board, along with other fruits like figs and grapes.

How to Make ahead and Store
I recommend storing these apple chips in a bag or airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. They will keep well, but make sure they are completely dried and cooled before storing them so that they don’t get soggy. Apple chips can also be frozen in a Ziploc bag for up to 6 months.

Serving Suggestions
Apple chips are great in sandwiches, but also served next to them instead of the more traditional potato chips. They add a nice, fresh touch to robust Brisket Sandwiches and pair especially well with this Blackberry Vegan Chickpea Salad Sandwich With Basil. Alternatively, add them as a finishing touch to a bowl of Carrot-Ginger Soup or this satisfying Quinoa Breakfast Bowl.

Ingredients
- 1 large apple
- Cinnamon, to taste
Instructions
- Use a mandoline to slice the apple into discs about 1/8-inch thick.

- Place a few of the apple slices in the mesh basket of your air fryer and sprinkle with a little cinnamon. It's VERY important to not overcrowd the apples or they won't get crispy.

- Place a rack over them so they don't blow around and bake at 300°F for 5 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 4-6 minutes, until the edges curl up and there are golden brown areas (but not black!) on the apple.

- Remove from the air fryer and let them cool and crisp up on a rack on the counter.

- Repeat with the rest of the apple.
