Hola!
I’m practicing my Spanish just in case I randomly win a surprise trip to Mexico.
Wishful thinking right?
Anyway.
Today’s Sunday reflection is a little on the short side, because I’m trying to get ready to go to California tomorrow! I’m going to a photography workshop and I am SUPER pumped about it.
BUT, you didn’t come for that.
Today, I want to share this devotional from Proverbs31.org with you:
Life is more <– Click that link to read the devotional.
I’ve told you about Proverbs31.org SO many times, because I read their devotionals every day, do their “First 5” app, and I just started their online Bible Study: The Husband Project. (It’s about making your marriage better, not changing your husband FYI 🙂 )
If you still haven’t started reading their stuff, well, you need to.
BUT, this devotional. It was eye-opening for me.
The devotional basically talks about life is more than what we look like on the outside, or how much “stuff” we have, our job etc. It’s about how God doesn’t care about that, for lack of a better word, crap. He cares about what is on the INSIDE.
I know, you’re all like “well that’s not anything new. I was told that growing up in Sunday school all the time.” I know. It IS NOT NOTHING NEW AT ALL. And, if you’ve been following these reflections (and my journey to heal my relationship with food) it’s basically the stuff that I’ve been writing about, and trying to teach myself for the past year.
But, you know how sometimes you read something you already know at just the right time? This was that for me.
Like I told you a few weeks back, I hit my goal weight (yay!) BUT, now I am trying to re-learn how to eat like a normal human, and what hunger and fullness actually feel like. I haven’t listened to my bodies cues in 5 years people! So, it’s been scary. For example, I fear that I am truly not hungry and just eating because I’m bored and I will gain weight.
I actually read this devotional during one of those moments….and it just kind of clicked.
Since that devo, when I am having scary moments, or moments when I just feel “icky” the words “Jesus sees your inside” have been passing through my head….and things (food/maintaining weight/being a normal eating human wise) have just gotten easier.
So, you should read it. Even if you don’t have food issues, it’s a great reminder. Social media/Hollywood/The whole world tells us that we are defined by our pant size, the size of our house etc. This is not true.
And, it never hurts to have a reminder. 🙂
I guess that wasn’t that short, but I hope you read the devotional and it speaks to you like it did me!
Happy Sunday peeps!

Good morning Taylor! I’m always looking for new devotions, so I’m going to try out The Husband Project today. Thanks for sharing, and I love your Sunday Reflections. Have a fabulous day.

I hope you love the project! It’s not really a devotional as it’s a whole book series, but I hope you try it out! And thank you Michelle, I am so happy to hear that!

I love the Proverbs 31 devotionals, I get them every day in my email. But what’s the First 5 app?
Taylor Kiser says
It’s an app you download for your phone! It is designed that you do it RIGHT when you wake up, during the first 5 mins of your day…it’s a new little devotional every morning!
