Enjoy this Strawberry Smoothie for a simple treat that’ll leave your taste buds singing.

Strawberry Smoothie

If I could live off of smoothies, I would. I love playing around with fruits and vegetables, mixing in nuts, seeds, and protein powder, and then topping them with piles of berries, granola, or even cacao nibs or dates when the mood strikes. Smoothies have become my way to start the day, and my concoctions have become more complex as I come up with new ways to get my nutrients in.

Simply put, smoothies taste great. They can be a healthy addition to your day, and aside from my wild concoctions, they’re a total breeze to blend. This smoothie recipe combines delicious strawberries and a few other key ingredients for a simple drink that’s both tasty and refreshing.

The beauty of this recipe is that it’s not all that stringent. While you can go all-in as I sometimes like to do for my morning smoothies, the simplicity of this particular recipe is what makes it such a hit. Either way, this simple strawberry smoothie is the perfect recipe to keep on hand when you’re craving a sweet berry blend.

Is This Strawberry Smoothie Healthy?

If you’re someone who strives for five fruits and vegetables a day to stay healthy, this strawberry smoothie puts you on the right path. Strawberries are full of antioxidants, while the banana adds fiber and natural sweetness. If you’re avoiding sugar, leave out the sweetener. The Greek yogurt in the smoothie is low in fat and a good source of protein. If you’re vegan or lactose intolerant, however, feel free to replace it with a plant-based Greek-style yogurt. Overall, this strawberry smoothie can be a healthy addition to your day.

Variety Is The Spice Of Life

Strawberries aren’t the only fruit you can put in this smoothie. While this recipe is delicious just the way it is, if you want to try mixing it up, it’s an excellent base for adding a few other flavors of your choice. Smoothies are a great way to get picky eaters to eat a variety of colorful fruits (and even some vegetables!). This berry blend will easily hide spinach or kale, and the strawberries naturally complement other fruits such as peaches, mangos, or other frozen berries. Strawberries are a strong berry, so if you’d like to balance out the sweet-tart taste of this red fruit, try adding in a handful of raspberries and cherries to the mix.

When I’m lacking in protein, I often add a scoop or two of my favorite protein powder or collagen. I use unflavored ones for this purpose (I hate overpowering my smoothies with the taste of protein powders). However, if you’d like a chocolate or vanilla berry-flavored smoothie, adding in flavored powders could work well here, too.

How Do I Store Leftovers?

Smoothies are best enjoyed fresh, but if you have any leftovers you’d like to enjoy, it’s possible to do so. Simply pour any leftovers into an airtight jar and place it in the refrigerator. The smoothie should stay good for up to 48 hours.

Serving Suggestions

Strawberry smoothies are ideal as a standalone snack or dessert. However, they can also be a great way to start the day as a complement to your normal breakfast. For instance, try having your smoothie as a side to Easy-Baked Eggs In Avocado or a breakfast burrito. These Authentic Belgian Waffles are a lovely complement to a fresh berry smoothie, and something as simple as Chia Seed Oatmeal can turn into a bigger meal with a smoothie as a side.
