Get ready to elevate your appetizer game with Longhorn Stuffed Mushrooms—where comfort meets gourmet flair!

Plated Longhorn Stuffed Mushrooms topped with melted cheese, breadcrumbs, and fresh parsley.

As the leaves begin to fall and the air becomes crisp, I know it’s time to cozy up with a warm, savory dish that truly captures the essence of autumn. And this dupe of Longhorn Steakhouse’s white cheddar stuffed mushrooms is the perfect dish idea for fall nights and gatherings, bringing a burst of flavor to celebrate the season. If you know me, don’t be surprised if I serve this delicious dish multiple times over the next few months.

For me, the first bite of a Longhorn stuffed mushroom offers a wonderful mix of flavors. White button mushrooms pair well with white cheddar, Parmesan, and garlic, creating a satisfying and aromatic experience. What I appreciate most about this recipe is how it combines savory and comforting elements, making it suitable for even a night spent watching movies on the couch. I don’t know why, but I always associate indulgent Alfredo sauce with a nice, white-tablecloth Italian restaurant. In this recipe, we make Alfredo, pour it into a baking dish, add the mushrooms, and then top it with the rest of the sauce plus white cheddar for creamy, melty delight. Add a bit of fresh parsley on top for a splash of color and you’ve got yourself a tasty and beautiful addition for your fall menu!

Are Longhorn Stuffed Mushrooms Healthy?

Longhorn stuffed mushrooms can be a delicious addition to your meal, but like many indulgent appetizers, they come with a mix of nutritional benefits and considerations. This appetizer features protein from the cheese, but there is also a higher amount of fat and saturated fat, which is something to keep in mind if you’re monitoring your heart health. That being said, the button mushrooms provide B vitamins, fiber, and potassium. You can also easily make this dish gluten-free by using gluten-free breadcrumbs. If you’re seeking a balanced diet, I suggest enjoying Longhorn stuffed mushrooms with lighter main dishes or simply as an occasional treat.

What Other Mushrooms Can I Use In This Dish?

While white button mushrooms are the classic choice for Longhorn stuffed mushrooms, you can experiment with other types. For example, cremini mushrooms offer a deeper, earthier taste. Portobello mushrooms, with their large size and meaty texture, can make visually pleasing and impressive individual servings. If you’re a fan of umami, shiitake mushrooms can really elevate this recipe! Or, if there are any oyster mushroom fans out there, you can expect a slightly sweet flavor. Each type of mushroom brings its own character to this dish, so be creative and have fun with it!

How Do I Store Leftovers?

Continue to enjoy Longhorn stuffed mushrooms by storing your leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days. For longer storage, simply transfer your mushrooms into a freezer-safe, airtight container and store in the freezer for up to 2 months. No need to drive to Longhorn Steakhouse when you have a ready-to-go appetizer in your freezer!

Serving Suggestions

If you’re serving your Longhorn stuffed mushrooms as a tasty side dish, you have many great main course options to choose from. Oven-Cooked Top Sirloin Steak, Roasted Chicken, and Spinach Pasta would all pair really well. Or, if you’re a mushroom aficionado, why not pair this app with a main of Mushroom Soup Rice And Chicken?
