If you love golden, runny yolks, this Easy Air-Fryer Poached Eggs recipe makes perfectly tender eggs every time.

Poached eggs are delicious, with a firm outer white surrounding a warm, runny yolk inside. However, we don’t see them as often as their counterparts, like scrambled eggs or sunny-side-up. Although poached eggs have been around for a while and even appeared in the earliest cookbooks, they are just not as common.
Perhaps it’s because poached eggs are intimidating? I know they used to be for me. I’m so used to seeing poached eggs as part of “fancier” dishes, such as eggs Benedict and eggs Florentine. Such highbrow eggs are typically reserved for holidays and Michelin-starred menus, not my kitchen.
However, now that I’ve got to know (and love) my air fryer, I’ve added this recipe to my rotation. It’s simple, healthy, and ready in just TEN MINUTES! No more waiting for the perfect water temperature to poach your egg and questioning whether or not you should add vinegar. Just add oil and water, then eggs to the ramekins, and get cooking!

How does an air fryer poach eggs?
After a lifetime of thinking there’s only one way to poach an egg, it was hard to wrap my head around this new method. Air fryers are awesome and convenient, but how do they work? It’s actually quite simple—and fascinating.
Instead of simmering your eggs in water, the air fryer does the heavy lifting by steaming the small amount of water you put in the ramekins. It does this by quickly (and gently) circulating hot air. This helps set the whites in your eggs while keeping the yolk runny. There’s no vinegar or guesswork with this method, and you get perfectly tender eggs in minutes.

How do I store leftovers?
Honestly, you should enjoy these poached eggs right away. They’re simply not going to taste the same the following day, and they definitely don’t reheat well. That being said, you can refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

Serving suggestions
Poached eggs go great with crusty bread, and since you already have the air fryer on, make some Air-Fryer Toast. And for a brunch-friendly vibe, slather the toast with Garlic Butter before topping it with your poached egg. Speaking of brunch, no poached egg is complete without some veggies, and Air-Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus certainly fits the bill. For something sweet but not too decadent, this Healthy French Toast satisfies.
