Why, you ask? It’s SO easy to use, cooks food evenly and delivers crispy, hot meals with little effort. It’s ideal for last minute meals and parties with tasty appetizers. Another bonus- there is little to no cleanup!

Something else that I love about my air fryer is that I can use few, simple ingredients that I have hanging out in my fridge, freezer and pantry and make them into something that tastes gourmet. These nuggets are so easy and you may already have the ingredients at home! YAY for less trips to the grocery store. Let’s round up the ingredients we need to make chicken nuggets air fryer:
- Italian Seasoned Panko
- Grated Parmesan Cheese
- White Whole Wheat Flour
- Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
How Long to Cook Chicken Nuggets in Air Fryer?
Chicken nuggets are just so delicious and can be cooked and enjoyed in so many different ways, and they are a favorite of kids and adults alike. Whether they’re baked, fried, or air fried they’re a crowd pleaser without a doubt.
Cooking them in an air fryer is simple: Set your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Simply take the battered nuggets and place them in the mesh basket of your air fryer with plenty of space in between each nugget. Let them cook until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees, which should take approximately 10-13 minutes.
To Dip or Not To Dip?
These air fryer chicken nuggets are so juicy, flavorful and crispy. I often like to eat them on their own because they’re just that good! If you want to dunk them, though, you totally can! There are literally endless ways you can spice them up with dips and sauces if you’re serving them at a party! Can They Be Made Gluten Free?

If you’re following a gluten free diet, you can easily tweak the recipe to make these gluten free! Simply swap out the white whole wheat flour for gluten free flour and switch out the panko bread crumbs for gluten free panko and you’re good to go!
Other Healthy Air Fryer Recipes
Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets
- 1/2 Cup Italian seasoned Panko (GF if needed)
- 2 Tbsp Grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Large egg
- 3 Tbsp White whole wheat flour (or GF cup for cup sub)
- 1/2 Lb Boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1 inch cubes
- Pre heat your air fryer to 400 degrees.
- Mix the the panko, cheese, paprika and salt and spread onto a large, rimmed plate. Then place the egg in a medium bowl and whisk it. Finally, place the flour into a medium, rimmed plate.
- Take one of your chicken cubes and dredge it in the flour, followed by egg, shaking off any excess. Finally, cover it in the panko and place into the mesh basket of your air fryer. Repeat with all cubes.
- Cook until golden brown and crispy and an instant read thermometer reads 165 degrees F, about 10-13 minutes.
