It’s Sunday time!
Today, I just have an update on last weeks Sunday reflection.
You guys know I was pretty honest and told you that I was really struggling to FEEL God the past few weeks. My spiritual walk had just become a little dry, a little lack-luster, and I just felt like I was being legalistic and doing “Bible stuff” because I had to.
Well. That’s KINDA changed.
So, I decided that I needed to find something that didn’t feel forced. I had been doing my SOAPS (check out what I mean here) and I think that was honestly really killing my spirit.
It was really long, and it was just a bunch of verses that a paper told me to read that, for the most part, didn’t really have anything to do with current things/struggles going on in my life. So, I just really wasn’t enjoying them anymore.
I decide I needed to find something more applicable, at least until I got my mojo back and was ready to get back into SOAPS.
The last 2 weeks I decided to reader Proverbs 31 EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Considering I am a wife who wants to be the best wife to Mr.FFF I can be, I think this scripture is really applicable. It’s also challenging because I know I am NOT a Proverbs 31 wife most of the time. ????
I also downloaded this book to my kindle called The Proverbs 31 Wife Handbook, which I LOVE. It’s easy reading, but it really BREAKS down each verse of Proverbs 31 into the old Hebrew meanings for certain words that have really been kind of messed up in translation of the verses.
It’s been really giving me a new perspective shift on how I need to act as a wife, and I’ve been enjoying doing “Bible stuff” more.
I mean, it doesn’t take me long to do this – maybe 10 minute – whereas SOAPS took me 30-40 daily. At first, I felt like I wasn’t “spending enough time” with God. But, I realized it’s more about quality than quantity.
I still don’t feel ULTRA connected to God, but I am enjoying spending this time in the Word, and reading something that I feel speaks to my current situation. So, I know it’s going to come back.
All of this to say, sometimes it’s just about switching it up. If you’ve been feeling stale in your walk with The Lord, maybe it’s time to try something new!
Have a fantastic Sunday!

James 4: I love that it reminds us to draw night to our Father in Heaven, because sometimes it might take a while, but He will draw night to His children again. I know what you mean about feeling spiritually dry; I really want to know God more, to know the love of Jesus more, but so often I do get dry or just apathetic. You could pray for me that I would be less dry… I’ll be praying for you as you pursue Him Taylor; love ya friend.
