Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, granulated sugar, and sliced strawberries.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and let cook for 20 minutes, until the strawberries are soft and the syrup is richly colored.

- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, avoiding pressing the strawberries to keep the syrup clear. Discard the solids and let the syrup cool.

- Transfer the cooled syrup to a clean bottle or jar and refrigerate. Use as needed.
