Ingredients

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt optional

Instructions

  • Rinse the quinoa and rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed quinoa, rice, water, and salt.

  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the water is absorbed and the grains are tender.

  • Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  • Fluff the quinoa rice with a fork and serve.
