A bowl of gluten-free protein puppy chow, ginger snap style.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup natural creamy almond butter
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 4 cups cinnamon Chex cereal gluten-free if needed
  • 2/3 cup protein powder vanilla or chocolate
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  • Place the almond butter, molasses and coconut oil into a large, microwave-safe bowl and microwave until melted and creamy, about 1 1/2 minutes.
  • Stir the mixture well to combine and then add in the Chex. Stir gently until the almond butter mixture coats the cereal.
  • In a large, zip-lock bag, combine the protein powder, ginger and cinnamon. Shake the bag around to make sure the spices get mixed in with the protein powder.
  • Add the Chex cereal into the bag and shake around until evenly coated in the protein powder/spice mixture.
  • Pour into a bowl and let cool before serving, so that the almond butter hardens and sets.
