Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
- 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- Pinch of crushed red pepper optional
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 to 2 minutes.

- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, dried basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes to the saucepan. Stir to combine.

- Cover the saucepan, bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Let simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
