Ingredients

  • Lime wedge for rimming the glass
  • Kosher salt for rimming the glass
  • 2 ounces tequila preferably blanco or silver
  • 2 ounces grapefruit juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup or to taste
  • 2 ounces sparkling water
  • Grapefruit wedges optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare a highball glass by running a lime wedge along the rim, then dipping it into a shallow plate of kosher salt to coat.
  • Add the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup to the prepared glass.
  • Fill the glass generously with ice and stir gently to combine the ingredients.
  • Top with sparkling water and give the drink another gentle stir to blend.
  • Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit, if desired, and serve immediately.
