Ingredients
- 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 1/3 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef lean
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 small yellow onion diced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- Cooked white rice for serving
- Toasted sesame seeds optional
- Crushed red pepper flakes optional
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.

- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and season with salt and pepper.

- Cook until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.

- In the same skillet, add diced onion, minced garlic, and ginger. Sauté until onions are translucent, about 3 minutes.

- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add broccoli and the prepared sauce. Stir well to combine. Simmer until the broccoli is tender and the sauce has thickened, about 5-7 minutes.

- Serve warm with white rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and crushed red pepper flakes.
