Eggnog French Toast

Ingredients

  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 8 slices of thick-cut bread
  • Butter for greasing and serving
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  • In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, eggnog, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg until smooth and well-combined.

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add enough butter to coat the pan.

  • Meanwhile, dip each slice of bread into the eggnog mixture, allowing each side to soak for a few seconds or up to 30 seconds if you prefer softer French toast.

  • Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3 minutes per side. Add more butter to the pan as needed to prevent sticking.
