Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 8 large peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a Dutch oven, combine the sliced peaches, 1/4 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the melted butter and milk until just combined.
  • Spoon the batter over the peach mixture in dollops. Spread gently to cover as much of the peaches as possible.

  • Sprinkle the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling. Remove from the oven, place on a wire rack, and allow to cool slightly.
