Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large whole-wheat flour tortillas
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato sliced
  • Pickle slices optional

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.

  • Place lean ground beef in the skillet. Cook it while breaking it apart with a spoon until it’s browned and no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.

  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to blend flavors. Remove from heat.

  • Heat the flour tortillas in a skillet or microwave until they become pliable.
  • Place a slice of cheddar cheese in the center of each tortilla. Spoon an even portion of the beef mixture over the cheese.

  • Add shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and, if desired, pickle slices on top of the beef.

  • Drizzle additional ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise over the fillings if you like.
  • Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to secure the wrap.

  • Heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down on the skillet. Cook for 2-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese has melted.

  • Remove from skillet. Slice each wrap in half if desired and serve warm.
