Ingredients
- 1 slice whole-grain bread
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon butter
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes or hot sauce optional
Instructions
- Toast the bread until golden and crispy.
- Mash the avocado in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.

- Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook until the whites are set and the yolk reaches desired doneness, about 3-5 minutes.

- Spread the mashed avocado onto the toasted bread.

- Top the avocado toast with the cooked egg. Season with additional salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
