Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large apple peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • Confectioners' sugar for dusting optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. In a blender, pulse together eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Set aside.

  • In a 12-inch oven-safe skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add sliced apples and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  • Pour the batter over the apples in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

  • Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired. Slice and serve warm.
