Ingredients
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons milk of choice
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the frosting
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk of choice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line the bottom of a 9-inch cake pan with parchment paper, spraying the sides with cooking spray or oil.

- In a large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

- Add in the eggs, milk, and vanilla and whisk until combined.

- Transfer to the pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 40 minutes. Place the pan on a wire rack and let the cake cool in the pan completely.

- Once the cake is cooled, beat the butter in a large bowl using an electric hand mixer until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

- Add the remaining frosting ingredients and beat until well combined.

- Spread on top of the cake.
