Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 1/2 cups applesauce unsweetened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup avocado oil (or any neutral-flavored oil)
- 1/4 cup coconut or brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon raw cane sugar
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400°F and grease a muffin pan.

- In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, spices, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

- In a separate, large bowl whisk all the remaining ingredients except the raw sugar.

- Add the dry ingredients into the wet and stir until just combined.

- Scoop into the muffin pan (I like using an ice cream scoop) and sprinkle with the raw sugar.

- Bake for 5 minutes. Then, reduce the heat to 350°F and bake another 13-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

- Let the muffins cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
