Ingredients
- 6 medium apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
- Optional: vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon until well coated. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.

- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

- Evenly sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples in the baking dish.

- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbly. Serve warm with an optional scoop of vanilla ice cream.
