1 1/2ozvodka
1ozcoffee Liqueure.g., Kahlúa
1ozfreshly brewed espressocooled
coffee beansfor garnish (optional)
1/2ozsimple syrup(optional - for sweetening and balancing taste)
Instructions
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add vodka, coffee liqueur, and cooled espresso to the shaker.
Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to ensure proper mixing and chilling.
Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
If desired, garnish with three coffee beans placed on top for a stylish touch. Serve immediately and enjoy your Espresso Martini!
Notes
To make a non-alcoholic version, replace the vodka and coffee liqueur with non-alcoholic alternatives, like a non-alcoholic vanilla-flavored spirit and coffee syrup. Obviously, the taste will lack that freshness and sophistication of an actual espresso martini but the teetotalers among you will be able to raise a glass without worrying about alcohol.
I am an espresso lover so I would strongly advice against it but you can add 1/2 oz of simple syrup (or any other syrup). It will help balance the bitterness of the espresso and the coffee liqueur with its own sweetness.
