Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee Liqueur e.g., Kahlúa
  • 1 oz freshly brewed espresso cooled
  • coffee beans for garnish (optional)
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (optional - for sweetening and balancing taste)

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add vodka, coffee liqueur, and cooled espresso to the shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to ensure proper mixing and chilling.
  • Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.

  • If desired, garnish with three coffee beans placed on top for a stylish touch. Serve immediately and enjoy your Espresso Martini!

Notes

  • To make a non-alcoholic version, replace the vodka and coffee liqueur with non-alcoholic alternatives, like a non-alcoholic vanilla-flavored spirit and coffee syrup. Obviously, the taste will lack that freshness and sophistication of an actual espresso martini but the teetotalers among you will be able to raise a glass without worrying about alcohol.
  • I am an espresso lover so I would strongly advice against it but you can add 1/2 oz of simple syrup (or any other syrup). It will help balance the bitterness of the espresso and the coffee liqueur with its own sweetness.
