Ingredients

  • 2 oz. silver tequila
  • 1 oz. Cointreau (or any orange liqueur)
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 oz. sweet 'n' sour mix
  • splash orange juice
  • splash Sprite (or any lemon-lime soda)
  • lime wedges and olives (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a cocktail shaker, pour the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, sweet 'n' sour mix, orange juice, and a handful of ice cubes.
  • Shake well until the shaker feels cool to the touch, about 15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
  • Top it off with a splash of Sprite. Garnish with a lime wedge and an olive.

Notes

  • Use silver or blanco tequila, which typically has fewer calories than its aged counterparts.
  • Make your own sweet 'n' sour mix by using equal parts low-glycemic agave nectar with fresh lime juice.
  • Use a diet or low-sugar lemon-lime soda if calories are a concern.
