- 1 lime cut into wedges
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 2 tsp hot sauce or to taste
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 12 ounces cold Mexican lager like Modelo
- Ice
- 1/2 cup cold clamato or tomato juice optional
Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a pint glass. Spread salt on a plate and dip the rim in the salt to coat.
Squeeze the juice from the remaining lime wedges into the glass, then drop in the wedges.
Add the hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Pour in the cold beer. If you like, you can also add the tomato juice/clam juice.
Gently stir the ingredients to mix, fill the glass with ice, and serve immediately.
- Go for a good-quality Mexican lager such as Modelo, and always fresh lime juice.
- Experiment with different brands and levels of hot sauce to find one(s) that suit you.
- Apply the salt lightly and evenly to prevent an overpowering saltiness.
