In a small saucepan, gently sprinkle the gelatin over the milk and let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.

Warm the milk over medium heat, stirring until the gelatin is fully dissolved, but do not allow it to boil, about 3-5 minutes.

Stir in the heavy cream and sugar, continuing to heat and stir until the sugar dissolves, another 3-5 minutes.

Remove from heat, mix in the vanilla extract, and divide the mixture into two serving glasses. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
