Wash, hull, and halve the strawberries. Squeeze fresh lime juice and make (or obtain) simple syrup.
Place strawberries, rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and ice in a blender.
Taste the mixture and adjust to your preference by adding additional simple syrup for sweetness or lime juice for a more tart flavor, if needed. Blend again briefly to incorporate any changes.
Pour the strawberry daiquiri into chilled glasses and garnish with a strawberry or a lime wheel, if desired.
