In a bowl, mix the chocolate cookie crumbs with the melted butter. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
Place the springform pan into a larger roasting pan. Pour hot water into the roasting pan until it reaches 1 inch up the sides of the cheesecake pan.
