HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Did you have a BLAST?
How are you feeling today?
I hope not like this:
We had a lovely New Years Eve dinner at a Korean BBQ Place in Downtown Vancouver. Then we just hung out with my parental units, had a few drinks and watched Dick Clarks New Years Rockin’ Eve.
I know. I am such a party animal at 24 years old.
Today, we have a German tradition of eating rollkuchen and Portzelky. They are basically two forms of deep fried dough that you cover in sugar, peanut butter or honey. I know, not healthy at all BUT…
I thought it would be so fun to look back at 2014 and see the top 14 healthy recipes here on FFF picked by you! So, here goes!
Pumpkin Protein Bars – These took me 15 times to get right, but it was SO worth it! They’re soft, chewy and taste like pumpkin pie!
Cilantro Lime Hummus – I tried Panera’s Hummus Chicken Power Salad and fell in love. This hummus is a copycat version of what is on top of the salad. It’s SO easy, and perfect for dipping ALL THE THINGS.
Cranberry Pistachio Quinoa Salad – Your Meatless Monday is calling! This salad is creamy, crunchy and has the perfect sweetness. Plus there’s a tangy Kefir Balsamic Vinaigrette to keep it BALANCED.
Blueberry Cheesecake Oatmeal – I am eating this for breakfast as I type. No liez. It is my favorite because well, HEALTHY CHEESECAKE FOR BREAKFASY. DO it.
Paleo Gingersnaps – You guys LOVED THESE! And for good reason! They’re better than you’re grandmas, but they’re healthy, gluten, grain and refined sugar free!
Honey Mustard Chicken Stir Fry – This is a go to weeknight dinner for us! It’s quick, easy, healthy and packed with flavour! If you like honey mustard, then you NEED to try this!
Mexican Cauliflower Tot Casserole – You like tater tot casserole right? How about with a healthy, low carb spin? That’s what I thought. AND, look at that cheese. You can’t go wrong.
Pineapple Coconut Frozen Yogurt – I am a fro yo (Hello MENCHIES) and it seems ya’ll are too! This fro yo is SUPER easy and tastes like you’re on a tropical beach. You know, if you close your eyes 🙂
Turkey Zucchini Pizza Lasagna – One of my very first recipes ever, and still a favorite! Who doesn’t want all the taste of ooey gooey cheesy pizza goodness, but without all the fat, calories or carbs?
Pumpkin Hummus with Baked Cinnamon “Sugar” Tortilla Chips – Pumpkin pie without the carbs, calories or fat….AND it’s wayyy easier to make. If you love the traditional pie, you’ll love this gluten free, naturally sweetened dip-able form!
Sweet and Sour Bacon Wrapped Pineapple Bites – Hands down my favorite appetizer recipe on the blog, and I am glad that you agree! They’re like bacon wrapped water chestnuts meets sweet and sour pork. But healthy and low calorie. DROOL.
Goat Cheese and Quinoa Crusted Chicken – Did you know that quinoa isn’t just for side-dishin’? Now you do. Cheesy, healthy, gluten free and totally weeknight approved!
Skinny Chicken Enchiladas – You KNOW you want to know what makes these gluten free, low fat, high protein AND low carb. If you want healthy comfort food, This is YOUR JAM.
No, the secret ingredient is not jam. You understand.
Spicy Tuna Bites – Sushi is one of our favorite meals, and yours too apparently, because this was the most viewed and pinned recipe since FFF was born. These bites are stupid simple and taste like a spicy tuna roll without the carbs, fat or calories!
And the top 3 Not-So-Healthy-But-SO-Tasty Honorable Mentions:
Strawberry Freeze – The dessert that I grew up eating for ALL THE BIRTHDAYS. It’s loaded with egg whites and fruit, so it’s actually a pretty decent choice! It’s sweet, crunchy and so refreshing on a hot day. Or a cold day. Basically, always.
Circus Animal Ice Cream Cake – One of my favorite recipes to date…I knew you guys loved Circus Animals as much as I do! There’s quite a story behind this cake, and it almost didn’t even make it to the blog. But, it looks like you guys were glad it did! What more could you want than ice cream and Circus Animals right? Right.
Baileys Chocolate Coffee Crepe Cake – You know those times when you want everyone to OOOHH and AHH at what you brought to a party? This cake is for those times. It is time consuming, but actually pretty easy to make!
Thank you SO much for making this such a great first year of blogging here at Food Faith Fitness! I am SO excited to see what the next year brings!
