Well hello there.
If you didn’t pick it up from the title, well, WE MOVED last week…and WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE.
Seriously guys, we didn’t even tell my parents (who live in Canada, about 2 hours north of Seattle.) It was mega hard to keep it from them and from you guys. You may have seen my fake Instagram posts last week that I had saved from the week prior, to throw everyone off.
I’m a sneaky ninja like that.
AND, we only found out 2 weeks prior to making the move. So basically life has been mental for the past two weeks, with trying to pack our whole lives in a UHAUL and tow it across 12 STATES, 3200 miles and in 4 DAYS.
Ya. I’m tired. We pulled 16 hour days and drove through a whole lotta states. Also a whole lot of nothingness. We were out of cell phone service for 32 consecutive hours in Montana and Wyoming.
Do they not use cell phones there? I am unsure.
If you know my story, my home is Vancouver, so this move is SO exciting. We weren’t close to any family at ALL in Florida.
Ya’ll should have seen my parent’s faces. We arranged to set up a “skype date” with them, and they thought we would be skyping from Florida. So we went to a Tim Hortons (a Canadian only coffee company) and told them we were having internet problems, so we would skype from a coffee shop. Everything was normal and we were making small talk at first, until they asked about Mr. FFF’s job. I had told them that he had an interview for an AWESOME position in Florida that would keep us there a few years (knowing that we were coming home) SO we told them he got a job, but not that one. We then started sipping our Tim Hortons coffee and they freaked out! It was AWESOME!Now, I am very away that Washington is a lot colder. And A LOT rainier. Which will take some getting used to. BUT, I also couldn’t breathe in FL humidity and my hair was always POOF. So this is nice.
It’s also a lot darker here and our apartment is SURROUNDED by trees. Which is totally gorgeous…but I am concerned about lighting for photos.
So don’t judge me while I figure that out. Thanks in advance 🙂
But, there are so many pros to this move and I am SO pumped to be back (or at least closer to) home!
OH, and my kitchen is DOUBLE the size (no more lentil kitchen!) and I have an ISLAND.
I mean, not like my own island in the middle of a lake or anything, but a kitchen island. Not as cool. But still. ISLAND.
I would show you photos, but everything is still not unpacked and my house looks like a war zone.
Sorry about that. BUT, I hope you enjoyed some random photos from a long the journey!
NOW, to try to get back into work life after being off for 2 weeks.
Food tomorrow! Just wanted to update you on life! xoxo
