You know what I would really love to be able to do?
Go to the gym every.single.day.
BUTTTT then I would have to cut sleeping out of my daily “to do” list because, peeps, I just don’t have time to get my Gluteus Maximus over there every day of my existence. Andddd, as much as I say “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” well…
I’m not ready to give up my nightly trip the land of happy-resting-eyeballs-sleepy-goodness.
And, I know you’re not either.
WHICHHHH is why I am SUPER pumped that I was able to try DailyBurn’s new fitness regime by Bob Harper. You know the guy who whips ALL the people into shape on “The Biggest Loser.” That guy.
This program is called “Black Fire.” <— I KNOW. It just SOUNDS intense. Like WHOA.
And, my friends, IT IS.
Black Fire consists of High-intensity workout sessions that NEVER go over 20 active MINUTES. Like, twenty. Two Zero. Which is the amount of time that it takes me to actually DRIVE to the gym. But, like, I am DONE before I would even GET THERE.
I’m a fan.
Plus, every day is a different workout. Which is fun and jazzy and keeps me interested. There are only so many days that I can curl my biceps before I start seeing them yawn, YA KNOW?
You probably don’t. Because normal people’s biceps don’t yawn. Work with me.
What I really, REALLY love is that Black Fire starts by focusing on form, before just jumping willy nilly (who else loves that phrase? FUN) into a bunch of workouts, that you have no idea how to do, and then end up hurting yourself. It starts with body weight workouts (which are WAY tougher than I thought!) and works its way up to adding things like medicine balls and dumbbells.
Black Fire COULD stop there, but that would just not LIVE up to the intensity of the name, ya feel me? SO, it also comes with a daily meal plan, which I followed for a day to see how I did.
And, like, I actually felt FULL and the food tasted good. I mean, almond butter, toast and banana? Sign me all sorts of up for that perfectly nutty-sweet goodness, which it’s perfect balance of healthy carbs, fat and protein. It also takes that ULTRA stressful “OH MY GOSH WHAT IS THE PERFECT FOOD TO SHOVEL INTO MY FACE RIGHT NOW, SO I DON’T HINDER MY PROGRESS” feeling away.
Because, like, it’s right THERE. ON DA SCREEN. In front of your FACE.

Well, it’s actually not easy. It’s really, really hard.
But, in the best kind of way.
