You guys. It’s January.
Raise your hand if you’ve already got all your healthy eating/exercising resolutions all figured out. It IS that time of the year.
You might even be reading this from the DREADMIL.
And, because of that, I am really excited to be a part of the new #MakeYourMove campaign brought to you by Kohl’s!
Kohl’s wants to show that there are MANY ways that living well can feel good, and be easy and fun. So, throughout the next few months, I want us to talk about ways that we can fully embrace our lives, have fun and do things that energize, enliven and inspire us!
I am PRETTY sure that we all want that kind of life amIright?
Too many times, I see people not enjoying the JOURNEY to a healthy lifestyle. And it is just that – a journey, not a marathon. Let’s enjoy each moment and not stress ourselves out.
It’s about making one step at a time, and that is what the #MakeYourMove campaign is all about.
NOW, because it is the beginning of January, which means that healthy eating resolutions are in FULL SWING, I have some thought swirling around in my brain that are generally over-looked this time of year.
Learning to eat healthy, well, it can be STRESSFUL.
With all the information on the interwebz, and at our very FINGERTIPPIES, it’s hard to figure out where to start in the journey to healthy eating, weight loss or whatever your goal may be.
I mean, let’s just look at how many diets are out there right now: Paleo, Low Carb, Gluten Free, Keto, Vegan, Vegetarian…and about 100 million more.
I dunno about you, but just thinking about my all my options gets my heart racing. I’m a total perfectionist and I always want to make sure that I do EVERYTHING the PERFECT and RIGHT way.
Which means I am generally one big (ok, maybe not big because I’m 5’2. On a good day) ball of stress. Ask the Huberoni. He knows.
But, you guys, you know what I’ve learned through all my trial and error of different diets and Oh-My-Gosh-I’m-So-Stressed-Because-I-Don’t-Know-The-Perfect-Way-To-Be-Healthy?
There is no “perfect” Way.
What works for someone, ain’t gonna work for you. We’re all made differently. AND, it’s not just about what “works” but also what makes you feel GOOD and enriches your life.
Because, as great as it is to focus on living a healthy lifestyle, it’s notsogreat if you’re a grumbly-grumpy-miserable-dark-cloud-person yaknowwhatImean?
Don’t put so much stress on yourself to do it “perfectly” or because Aunt Susie lost weight on X diet. Do what makes you feel good, feel healthy AND adds richness to your life.
And, you know what? You might find that you don’t even fall into a “category.”
I take bits and pieces from multiple diet styles and branch it under one idea – Eating whole, healthy foods that make my body feel good.
That’s it. That’s all.
It’s really that simple to lead a lifestyle that you truly enjoy.
Peeps, being healthy shouldn’t be stressful and HARD. Let’s make it fun capeesh?
